Grandma and Grandpa come to visit

At the beginning of October Grandma and Grandpa Johnson came to Texas for Madilyn's Baptsim.  We had a great time going to the Houston Zoo and the Beach.  We were so glad they came and we had a wonderful time with them.  We were so sad to see them go and we can't wait to see them again!

First Week of School

These were all the fun pictures from the first week of school this year.  They look so great and were so excited to start school.  They were nervous about this new school because they only went to it two months before summer.  They have transitioned really well.  I am so proud of them.  I can't believe Zain is in Kindergarten.  I miss him during the day and it is a long day.  They start school at 8:10 and don't get home until 4:00.  The older kids only get 1 recess that whole time.  Kindergarteners get two but one of them is short.  They are exhausted by the time they get done with school but they usually have another hour of homework they have to do. They do a great job  - but they can't wait to have a holiday break and neither can I!

Astros vs. Cubs

The boys were so excited to go to their very first professional major league baseball game.  Jacob loves the Cubs and so when they came to Houston to play the Astros they just had to go.  Even though the Cubs lost the game was super exciting Jared and the boys enjoyed every minute of it.

First Big Adventure in Texas

Last Saturday we decided to drive out to the gulf and see the Annual Architects Sand Structure Competition.
It was the first time I have been to the Atlantic and it was warm! We didn't pack swimsuits because of our experience with the Pacific Ocean ( it is always cold), so we thought the kids would just wade a little.  We were wrong.  Here are some pictures of some great things we saw and did.  Enjoy!
