Our New Normal

After you move you always know that at some point you will settle in and everything will be back to normal.  Well that is not true.  Yes, you may get settle in and into a routine but things will never be back to normal as they were before.  You have to find your new normal.  Our family is now in the process of finding our new normal.  It hasn't happened yet, but we know it will come.  We are trying to get used to a new school, Jared's new schedule, a new neighborhood, new friends, and a new ward.  At least we have each other but I think with all the changes we have been through that we have also changed a lot individually and as a family.  Sometimes it is overwhelming - all the change.  It was so nice to attend church on Sunday. (It was by no means easy since Jared was working and I took all 5 kids to church alone - a lot of people looked at me with panic in their eyes noticing that I had no husband there to help- I guess down here having 5 kids is almost unheard of even in the church.)  But the point that I was trying to make was that even though we are 1600 miles from where we used to call home and we have a completely different ward with all new people - the gospel is still the same.  We learned about Jesus Christ and the family. The church is true here just like it is everywhere.  It is nice to have that constant!

I wanted to include some pictures of the new place.

I wanted to include a picture of the roads here.  They are all like parkways - with trees and beautiful flowers down the middle.  All of the stoplights are sideways - it is different to get used to.
Zain, Abbie, Melody, and I went on a bike ride around the neighborhood.  It is so weird to see palm trees.  I hope I will get use to them.

It is hard to create a new normal, but it comes. Slowly sometimes, but it does come. And it seems that after awhile, you can't remember what the old normal was really like! I hope you guys are able to adjust quickly!!
